Q: SHOULD I HAVE MY WATCH SERVICED?

A: Most experts recommend having a mechanical or automatic watch serviced every 3-5 years. During this time, many factors impede the watch’s ability to run and, ultimately, how accurately it keeps time. The gathering of dust, wearing of parts, impact shock or loss of lubrication can all hinder a watch’s performance. We are highly experienced in the service and overhaul of all watches and at an extremely competitive price. Our senior technicians based at the Omega Accredited workshop will undertake this process.

Q: CAN YOU REPLACE A BATTERY IN ANY BRAND OF WATCH?

A: We can replace the batteries in the vast majority of watch brands. Our staff have an enormous wealth of experience in the replacing of batteries in all brands from casio to cartier, for more information please ask in store.

Q: WHAT MAKES A WATCH WATER RESISTANT?

A: Several mechanisms protect watches from water damage. The most important is the ‘gasket’ or ‘o-ring’, made of nylon, Teflon or rubber, which creates a seal around the join of the case back to the glass, preventing the entrance of water. Chemical sealants are also used along the case, which in itself should be strong enough to withstand high pressure for underwater use.

Q: THE HAND ON MY WATCH HAS FALLEN OFF, CAN THIS BE REPAIRED?

A: Yes, the replacing of watch hands is something we can do for you in store. Our qualified staff members can carry this out in any branch.

Q: CAN YOU REMOVE LINKS FROM MY WATCH?

A: All of our stores can adjust and remove links from your watch; this is carried out in branch. This is also free of charge if you purchased the watch from ourselves online or in-store. If you bought the watch elsewhere, not a problem please ask in-store for a quote. You will only ever have to pay once, so you can pop the watch back if the fit still isn’t to your liking.

Q: MY LEATHER STRAP IS TOO SHORT, CAN YOU HELP?

A: Yes, we hold a variety of extra-long watch straps. If we don’t have anything suitable in stock we can order something of your choice from our supplier.
